The Minister of Finance and the Minister of State of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs discuss enhancing strategic cooperation between the two countries

On the sidelines of the Arab-Japanese Forum held in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, Dr. Gabriel Ibrahim, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, with Mr. Tsuji Kyoto, Minister of State at the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and responsible for the Africa Department, to discuss ways to enhance strategic cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Sudan and Japan, with a focus on reactivating the advisory committee between the two countries to enhance joint cooperation in the economic and development fields. The two sides also discussed ways to benefit from Japanese expertise in the reconstruction phase in Sudan, including providing technical and logistical support for development projects.
Dr. indicated. Gabriel Ibrahim stressed the importance of reopening the offices of the Japanese Embassy and JICA in Port Sudan, explaining that this step will enhance development cooperation between the two countries. The humanitarian situation in Sudan was also discussed, as the minister pointed out the need to continue humanitarian support to enhance stability.
The meeting stressed the importance of building a strategic partnership between Sudan and Japan, which includes supporting the security of the Red Sea, and inviting Japanese companies to invest in the fish sector in Sudan. It was also agreed to organize training courses for Sudanese youth in Japan to develop their skills and enhance their professional capabilities.
This meeting reflects the joint keenness between Sudan and Japan to consolidate bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields to achieve sustainable development and stability in the region.
