Today, Saturday, June 1, 2024, an expanded meeting was held with Dr. Jibril Ibrahim Mohamed, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, through his summer administrative position. The meeting was attended by Dr. Abu Bakr Al-Bushra, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry (via video conference from Merowe), Engineer Nour Al-Bayt Mansour, Minister of Agriculture, working on a water level, Engineer Ibrahim Mustafa, Governor of the Gezira Project, Mr. Mohamed Adam, Director General of the Agricultural Bank, and Engineer Abdel Aziz Mohamed Khair, Director General of the Nile Petroleum Company, in addition to The Economic Security Vision, the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, the Ministry of Agriculture, Gedaref State, and Bashaer Petroleum Company.
The meeting reviewed the construction of comprehensive summer visas from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Irrigation, and the Al-Jazeera Project regarding equipment, structures, and infrastructure, and the readiness of the Ministry of Irrigation in terms of irrigation equipment and pumps. The needs for fuel and basic quantities in the production areas, seeds, fertilizer, pesticides, and the efforts of some organizations in providing seeds were also discussed. The plan of the Agricultural Bank was also listened to in the field of financing focus, controls and guarantees, in addition to allocating the various resources that will be financed and linking the use of technology with financing in order to increase production and production.
I listened to the efforts of oil companies regarding providing fuel and facilitating its flow to production areas.
The conference was held, which included resolving the financing problem and transferring it completely to the catalytic production areas before the spring, by accelerating bids for seeds, pesticides, aircraft spraying, and production inputs, and providing the necessary financing through banks. It was also agreed to continue holding meetings periodically in order to follow up on resolving problems and obstacles in a timely manner, to ensure the success of the summer agricultural season.
